The Methodist Church in Heswall has set up a new Fund that can be drawn on quickly in case of natural or man-made disasters such as we see regularly on the TV news. Some of the recent ones include the terrible cyclone Idai that devastated vast areas of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, the crisis of the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar continues, the Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami in 2018, and we have seen pictures of hurricane-flattened homes in the Abaco islands of the Bahamas and innumerable families with missing children, parents, brother and sisters.
The purpose of the Fund, in collaboration with ‘All We Can’, is to make small but identifiable contribution to addressing such disasters through a series of Christian social events within the Church and extending to the wider Heswall community.
